Bureau for Children with
Medical Handicaps (BCMH) is a home-visitation program designed to connect
public health nursing services with families whose child has developmental
delays. BCMH is a program sponsored by the Ohio Department of Health.
Help Me Grow Initiative
Help Me Grow is a home-visiting program funded in part by Ohio Department of Health grant funds. Its purpose is to help families whose children are birth to 3 years of age. Early Start links families to existing early childhood programs and services and supports Ohio’s school readiness goal. Professional nurses provide in home visits, supportive counseling and parenting education. Parents are linked to existing services in the community based on their needs.
HIV Testing
and Counseling Clinic provides anonymous and confidential HIV testing and
counseling. Educational programs are available upon request.
Communicable Disease
Control provides immunization services for children and epidemiological
surveillance in an effort to identify prevent and control the spread of
infectious diseases.
Lead Program
The goals of the lead program are to:
- Ensure universal screening of all children as required by Ohio law
- Ensure children with elevated blood lead levels receive appropriate care as well as to conduct quality assurance measures to help reach the goal of universal screening
Case Management
- Case management services include educating parents about lead poisoning prevention as well as assessing a family’s special needs and making appropriate referrals
