Public Health Nursing has been strengthening the highest risk families in the United States since before the turn of the century.  For these families, public health nurses have traditionally provided the entry point for health and human services.  In the new millennium the focus of public health nursing has expanded beyond those traditional consumers of public health services to include the entire community.
